Maryland Surgeon With Ebola Arrives In Nebraska For Treatment




The latest Ebola patient, a doctor who contracted the virus while working in Sierra Leone, has arrived in the United States.

Dr. Martin Salia was diagnosed on Monday, but he only just touched down in Nebraska for treatment today. The Associated Press reports that he’ll be receiving care at a biocontainment facility, where two other Ebola patients are also being housed.

He wasn’t flown out sooner because health care workers only recently deemed him stable enough to fly. His crew of health care workers took it a step further by stating that he was critically ill upon arrival earlier today, and that he is “possibly sicker than the first patients successfully treated in the United States.”
